Each year, millions of children — especially girls — are deprived of their right to education due to violent conflict, natural disasters, and ongoing crises. Schools are damaged or closed, teachers are displaced, and families struggle with poverty and insecurity.
Most children miss out on learning not because they lack potential, but because crisis disrupts their access to safe classrooms, learning materials, and qualified teachers. Without education, their future opportunities become limited, increasing the risk of poverty, child labor, and early marriage
Education and Capacity Building
Education is the key to lasting change. Our team works at the ground level to improve access to quality education and strengthen learning opportunities for vulnerable and marginalized children.
We provide school sponsorships for orphaned and disadvantaged students, covering school fees and essential expenses. To support their academic journey, we distribute uniforms, school bags, stationery, books, and other learning materials. We also offer financial assistance and coaching services to enhance students’ performance and confidence.
Through community assessments and close coordination with local authorities and educational institutions, we ensure our programs address real educational needs. Awareness campaigns further promote school enrolment and highlight the importance of education, especially in rural areas
Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund – Education Initiative
With the support of the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund (AHF), WADAN implemented the Education in Emergencies (EiE) project across Helmand and Farah provinces.
Through this initiative, WADAN provided access to quality education for 5,400 school-aged children — including 60% girls and 40% boys — in Khak-e-Safeed and Qala-e-Kah districts of Farah Province, as well as Lashkargah and Nahr-e-Saraj districts of Helmand Province.
This program aimed to ensure that vulnerable children affected by crisis and instability could continue their education in a safe and supportive learning environment.
